So here how it goes. I want to get a new insurance for my Mom's car. She is 52 years old women who drives a Honda civic 2002 Sendan that was totaled and repair before. She is paying 1,600 a year and I think that's a lot for liability . She used to have a car before that was in an accident(my brother hit somebody else car) and we had to drop that insurance(progressive). Two years after my brother broke another car that my mother bought but this time the insurance company(state farm) did not find out. Right now we are back to progressive and a car hit me while driving and I did call the insurance. It was not my fault and I don't think anything changed because we are still paying 1,600 but I still think its a lot. It is the best I can explain the situation , so should I go out and try to find a better deal? Any advice is appreciated

So I was in a car accident recently, pretty minor, but the damage to my car exceed the value of my car by A LOT Damage total $2500. Car 91 integra, not worth 2500 anymore. The damage to the front end is a lot of cosmetic, but there is also frame damage, ac compressor broken, head lamp broken, and bald spots on the tires from me breaking so fast. First question in an accident were the at party person assumes responsibility of the car and both parties decide to not go through insurance both parties have to come to an agreeable amount right? Seems right, right. Second- If the party not at fault is not happy with the agreed amount and decided to go through insurance instead, but the damage exceeds the value of the victims car, is the responsible parties insurance going to pay out the amount of the damage done, I got 4 estimates or it the insurance going to pay only the value of the car and salvage my title? Second, can the responsible party pay out the amount that is agreed upon and then expect to get the victims (my) car in return? Or is his considered extortion? Cause there is no f-in way I the person who is not responsible for the accident can find a reliable car for 1500 bucks, but could part out, or retire my car, sell my car and get more plus the 1500 she agreed upon. I am afraid that if insurance is involved they are going to total my car out thus costy me hundreds more, then it will be worth nothing and I would not be able to retire it and get money from that or even sell it. Lastly, this person has no right to ask me for my car right, she caused the accident and is responsible for paying for that damage that she cause one way or another. Please help me figure this out.

A couple days ago I was driving to a doctors appointment, I was rushing and very nervous. I got to a road that was closed where I had to back up. I looked behind me and saw no cars. Then I started talking to my mother who was in the car about if the road was closed or just partly blocked off. The police blocking the road even noticed and had to come over to control her. There was no damage to my car or hers, however she was driving a 92 buick and it was a piece of junk. I was worried she'd try to get something out of the whole thing so I took pictures of everything. This must have made her angry and she started trying to take pictures of my mother and I as well as bird poop on my car? Today I got a call from her insurance agency, saying she claimed injuries, a cracked windshield, and a messed up bumper. I am so angry! I know I did not do any damage, much less injure her! I'm a collage student and really can't afford my rates going up because of this. I called my insurance company and sent them pictures. They are trying to investgate. Do any one know a insurance in California that cover pre-existing condition? I am eighteen year old with no insurance still living with my parent which have no health insurance. We had medical but it expired. I have heart problem the doctor said i need to get insurance that cover pre-existing condition. I have try getting quotes online. I am seriously considering dumping the car and using a scooter. I have full no claims discount on my car insurance, would I be able to use this on my scooter insurance? Insurance company said my car is totalled?!?

So this last Saturday before St. Pattys day I took this girl out to the movies and i went to go turn into a gas station and randomly this guy smashes into me as i was making my left turn, didnt see him at all until last second which makes the crash weird because he hit my front driver side and his front driver side is messed up, cops automatically said it was my fault probably because im 19 driving around in a car that is nicer then theirs or something. Insurance company came to the body part place and said it was totalled without leaving a report. No damage hit the engine my intake and radiator got pushed in alittle bit more towards the engine and my window washer tube cracked thats about all ive seen plus the smashed out headlight and my bumper hanging. Please leave me some thoughts on if you think its totalled, really dont want this thing to go. NEED HELP FROM CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS about car insurance!?

We recently moved, and I called my car insurance agent today trying to change my zip code. My insurance company (Mercury) wants to charge us extra $150 for a 6-month period. As I recall, wasn't there a law passed last year against insurance companies from using a zip-code-based system? And when we brought that up to her, she just said we haven't gotten any notice from Mercury so we're still going to charge you for moving. Anyone knows what I can do about this? Thanks.
